Stormwater master plan, Station 20 fixes and wastewater cost-share with Key Largo outlined

Peter said the village is completing a stormwater master plan and proposed $25,000 in design funding for Stormwater Project No. 1 (Old Highway/Plantation By The Sea flooding area) to design vegetated strips, modified inlets and conveyance to wetlands. "So stormwater project number 1, we're looking to complete the design... we're looking, I believe, is $25,000 for design of our stormwater project number 1 this coming fiscal year," Peter said.
AJ described wastewater capital and said the wastewater rate study will be presented at the Aug. 20 meeting to clarify fee-setting. He also explained interlocal cost-sharing with Key Largo Wastewater for planned headworks and equalization-basin upgrades; staff said the village's proportional share (roughly one-third of the project related to inflow) is budgeted at about $2,000,000 pending final RFPs and engineering estimates. Councilors asked about whether Key Largo had reserves and how the shared-cost arrangement is calculated.
