Fire Chief Thomas reported that the Farmersville Fire Department responded to two major mobile-home fires within an eight- to nine-day span and that crews worked to prevent spread to neighboring homes. According to the chief, preliminary information suggests one blaze was accidental and that stored solvents and paint products under a mobile home increased fire intensity.
Chief Thomas commended first-arriving crews and said that "approximately 40 percent of the mobile home was saved." He also noted that the insurance company had responded to the scene and the Red Cross was contacted; families affected have local relatives assisting and will receive support including housing assistance coordinated through the city and partner organizations.
