The Farmersville City Council voted to approve 2026 Task Order No. 1 for design of the Farmersville Pedestrian Improvement Project at the May 26 meeting. The motion, moved by Councilmember Gregorio Gomez and seconded by Mayor Pro Tem Araceli Ochoa, passed 3-0.
During public comment on the item, resident Dario Gutierrez raised a safety concern about a marked crosswalk at Visalia Road and Stevens Avenue: he said that "at certain times of the day, when the sun is shining directly on the area, the flashing beacon at the crosswalk is difficult to see." The council did not record a substantive staff response in the transcript; the approved task order covers design work that may include visibility and beacon improvements.
