The Greenwood Lake Village Board approved Resolution 28 authorizing work to remove an uninhabitable structure at 15 Church Street. Mayor Howley said the property was previously deemed unsafe, the owners could not remove the structure, and the village will go out to bid for controlled demolition with asbestos in place.
"15 Church Street was basically deemed uninhabitable a while ago... Apparently, they cannot [remove the structure]. So we are going to go out to bid and remove the structure that was has been deemed unsafe," Mayor Howley said. The board moved, seconded and approved the resolution to begin the bid process for demolition.
The resolution authorizes the village to solicit bids and proceed with an asbestos‑aware demolition specification; trustees did not award a demolition contract at the meeting — the board directed staff to begin procurement.
