"Hold strong on the zoning. 0.5 acre lots," he said. Connie Figgerling said adopting 0.25-acre lots would not support equestrian uses and warned about potential property-tax reassessments affecting long-time residents.
Trisha Autry, speaking as a resident and a Parks & Recreation commissioner, urged the council to consider "alternative 2" and flagged the environmental impact report language that traffic impacts are "significant and unavoidable." She told the council that adding 63 homes at the site would increase traffic on Vine Avenue and surrounding streets and asked the council to prioritize safety for children and equestrians.
Other speakers (Art Rodriguez and Bill Naylor) similarly urged preserving 0.5-acre lots and asked the council to add protections for large lots into the city's core values. No council action on the project occurred at this meeting; several commenters noted that no decisions were expected at this session.
