Board approves resignations, volunteers, policies and student-program agreements

Under the superintendent’s recommendations the board accepted the resignation of Devon Anthony effective Jan. 14, 2026 and the resignation of Tina Jones effective Feb. 20, 2026. The board approved Amanda Belknap as a band volunteer retroactive to Jan. 12, 2026, and approved Joey Lunsford as an after-school high-school credit-recovery instructor paid at the tutor rate. The board also amended Alexis Stallman’s unpaid leave to run Feb. 20–Apr. 15, 2026.
The board approved remaining members of the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) for the 2026–27 seasons, the district Gifted Identification Plan and Gifted Education Policy, the Stark State College College Credit Plus (CCP) agreement, and multiple technology policies (Internet Filtering; Responsible Use; Staff Responsible Use signature page). In addition the board approved a suite of board policies including a Preventing Chronic Absenteeism policy effective Aug. 1, 2026, Student Health Services and First Aid, Overdose Reversal Drugs, and others listed in the superintendent packet.
All superintendent recommendations were approved by roll-call vote with five yes votes; the minutes list additional classified substitutes approved pending credentialing.
