Medina County commissioners approve package of administrative resolutions; claims of $1.33 million authorized

The Medina County Board of Commissioners on July 28 approved a package of administrative resolutions covering road closures, culvert replacement, pond‑permit review, procurement, personnel and claims payments. Commissioners Colleen M. Swedyk, Stephen D. Hambley and Aaron M. Harrison voted AYE on each motion.
County Engineer Administrative Assistant Dan Becker presented four resolutions including an MOU with the Medina County Soil & Water Conservation District to perform initial pond permit reviews and inspections and determinations of necessity to close Greenwich Road and Boston Road for culvert replacement and roadside maintenance. Sanitary Engineer Jeremy Sinko presented resolutions declaring the necessity of the 2025 Home Sewage Treatment System Plant Project and authorizing advertising for bids, authorizing change order no. 1 for the Chippewa and Lake Road Water Main Replacement Project, and authorizing the purchase of the MaintainX Asset Management Program through Carahsoft Technology Corp.
Finance Director Brett Thomas presented five finance actions, including transfers, a purchase authorization for 6,600 gallons of regular unleaded gasoline for the Engineering Center, and allowing claims and authorizing issuance in settlement of claims totaling $1,333,695.29. Human Resources Director Holly Muren presented and the Board approved personnel changes under the commissioners' jurisdiction. All motions were approved by roll call.
The full list of resolutions approved that day includes: 26-0544 (proclamation), 26-0545 through 26-0561 (administrative, engineering, sanitary, procurement, personnel and finance actions). No item on the agenda failed; several were adopted as a single motion when introduced by department staff.
