Board approves April finances, accepts donations and adopts resolution banning unauthorized ransomware payments

Treasurer Kim Beckley presented the April financial report and recommended approval of payments and routine financial items; the board approved the financial report and payment of bills for April. The board accepted a $5,000 donation from Tusky VFW and a $100 donation from Dennison Rotary toward a Claymont High School digital sign. Beckley also presented a renewal with MinuteMen HR for workers’ compensation services for the 2027 Group Retrospective Rating Program in the amount of $2,300.
On cybersecurity, the board unanimously adopted a resolution that "prohibits unauthorized ransomware payments, no employee, officer, or agent of the District shall authorize, negotiate, or make any ransomware payment or otherwise comply with a ransom demand unless expressly approved by formal resolution of the Board of Education in accordance with Ohio Revised Code 9.64." The resolution was approved on roll call.
