City honors Dennis P. Leahy for more than 51 years of fire service

The Beacon City Council opened its meeting by recognizing Dennis P. Leahy for more than 51 years of service to the Beacon Fire Department.
A fire-department representative recounted Leahy’s service record, saying he began service on 01/07/1975 and has served as a chief officer for more than 27 years and as department chief on three separate occasions. “Chief Leahy's unwavering commitment to the department and this community,” the speaker said, “your legacy is permanently woven in a very fabric of this department and this city.” The council presented a plaque and invited a photo.
Councilors and attendees thanked Leahy for his long service.
