Acworth finance department wins GFOA Certificate of Achievement for 26th straight year

Deputy city manager Keith Wilson told the board that Acworth's finance team received the Government Finance Officers Association Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the 2025 fiscal year. "This is the 26th consecutive year that our finance team has been awarded this," he said, calling it the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting.
Wilson said the award recognizes accuracy, transparency and full disclosure in the annual comprehensive financial report and thanked the finance team, independent auditors, department directors and the mayor and board for supporting sound financial management. The board and mayor offered congratulations.
