Athletic Director Rob Mucha told the Board that the Athletic Department prioritized safety and academics during the 2024–25 year, issuing high‑visibility jackets for supervisors and distributing seven AEDs to coaches. He said those measures accompanied a strengthened academic oversight program — Pass to Play (P2P) — that reduced the number of athletes on academic probation by providing weekly failure lists to coaches.
Mucha reviewed season statistics: Fall participation included 129 athletes across 12 modified/JV/Varsity sports, with five of six varsity teams achieving Scholar‑Athlete team status and 55 individual Scholar‑Athlete honors. Spring sports had 140 athletes with all five varsity teams designated Scholar‑Athlete teams and 71 athletes earning scholar honors. He also noted the new turf field has been widely requested by organizations and local schools and described initiatives to recognize coaches with polos and an end‑of‑year social to boost morale.
Board members praised the safety and academic emphasis and asked follow‑up questions about participation trends and the long‑term effect of merged teams on school identity. Mucha reiterated concerns that adding programs without sustainable participation could jeopardize other sports.
