Barker board accepts a wave of retirements; appoints election staff and summer coordinator
Summary

At the April 10 meeting the Board accepted multiple resignations for the purpose of retirement, acknowledging service and appointing many retirees as substitute teachers effective following their retirement dates. Resignation-effective dates range from June 30, 2025 through 2027 depending on the individual. Names accepted for retirement included Loriann Martell (Science Teacher, effective June 30, 2025) and multiple other certificated staff listed in the minutes.
The Board also approved personnel appointments: David Carson as summer-school coordinator at $50 per hour (effective April 1–Aug 1, 2025), Abrielle Harding to observe a second-grade classroom for 120 hours (May 1–June 30, 2025), and designated election inspectors and custodial staff (May 20, 2025 Annual Meeting) with specified stipends and hourly rates. Each personnel motion carried unanimously (Yes: 6, No: 0).
