Students pitch vending machine and cap-and-gown drive as Capstone projects

Three students — Owen Donovan, Jake Munn and Wyatt Payne — presented a Capstone proposing an on-campus vending machine to fund student council and club activities, keep students on campus in tenth period, and provide healthier snack options. The presenters said they surveyed 160 students to identify the top ten items and described plans for maintenance and profit distribution.
Mr. Carter told the Board the Cafeteria Fund will purchase the machine and stock it initially, and he expects the machine to arrive next month. In a separate Capstone, Evangeline Harris and Meghan Mallon proposed a Barker caps-and-gowns closet to collect gently used regalia from alumni to make graduation attire more affordable and sustainable; storage options are under review.
