The Barker Central School District Board approved language for three propositions to appear on the May 20, 2025 ballot, including the proposed 2025–2026 annual budget and two governance and library funding measures. The Board voted, unanimously, to submit the items to voters after discussion of logistics and costs for the election.
Proposition No. 1 would adopt the District’s 2025–2026 budget and authorize the requisite levy; Proposition No. 2 would elect two board members to three-year terms beginning July 1, 2025; Proposition No. 3 would increase the Barker Public Library levy from $90,259 to $98,834 (an $8,575 increase). The Board also agreed to use Niagara County voting machines for the vote after hearing a cost estimate of about $281 to cover machine use and set-up (Mrs. Eadie).
