Barker board approves routine personnel slate, student representative appointment and schedules executive session

During its Feb. 10 meeting, the Barker Central School District Board unanimously approved a range of personnel motions and routine business items.
The board moved to appoint Kaylee Stoll as Ex‑officio Student Board Member through the end of the 2024–25 school year (motion by J. Sweeney, Jr.; second by Mrs. Carnes; vote 7–0). Trustees also approved APPR teacher evaluators, spring sports coaching appointments and stipends (including varsity softball, varsity baseball, track and tennis positions), numerous school volunteer appointments, and multiple student‑teacher placements from Niagara University, Houghton University and Brockport State. The board accepted the termination notice of Haley Jemola effective Feb. 21, 2025; one trustee abstained from the student‑teacher appointment vote where a personal relationship existed.
In other business the board accepted the Treasurer's Report (Dec. 2024), the Extraclassroom Report (Dec. 2024) and Warrant Reports for Oct.–Dec. 2024. At 8:26 p.m. the board voted to enter executive session to discuss employment history of particular persons and reconvened and adjourned at 9:14 p.m.
