Benbrook reports $24.7M in year-to-date revenues through June; council accepts finance report

Finance Director Rick Overgaard presented the finance report for the period ending June 30, 2026, noting fiscal-year-to-date revenues of $24,732,584 (93.2% of budget) and expenditures of $19,547,438 (72% of budget), leaving revenues exceeding expenditures by $5,185,146. He provided line-item detail for June, including sales tax receipts of $395,844 and fiscal-year-to-date sales tax of $3,685,769, which he said is 4.1% higher than last year through June.
Councilmember Franklin moved to accept the report as presented and Councilmember Mackey seconded; the motion carried unanimously. Overgaard also presented the city’s investment portfolio ($37,880,782) and composition by instrument; Councilmember Phillips moved to accept the quarterly investment report for the quarter ending 06/30/2026 and the council approved the motion unanimously.
