Dan Collins, the foundation’s secretary, told council the foundation has funded 41 grants since 2014 with nearly $1.7 million raised overall and that the current presentation funds acquisition and a three‑year subscription for facial‑recognition software for police detectives and a drying cabinet for firefighting bunker gear.
Collins said the foundation’s starting membership is $50 and the average donation is over $360, and that members support grants for equipment, technology and training that promote public‑safety operations. The mayor pro tem thanked the foundation for their support and council anticipated formal acceptance later in the evening.
