The Town of Alexandria board opened a public hearing on its draft 2025 Comprehensive Plan on June 18 but elected to delay adoption pending the presence of the planner or the town's SEQRA reviewer.
Speaker 2 explained the plan is intended as a guiding policy document for land use, infrastructure and community development and noted a copy of the draft is available on the town website for public review. Morgan Spencer was named as the contact for additional information. Several board members said they preferred not to adopt until Morgan (or a staff representative) could be present to address SEQRA and other final clarifications; the board voted to table adoption until the planner attends a future meeting.
Board members discussed options to "accept" the draft without formal adoption and agreed to postpone formal action so that the SEQRA review and necessary clarifications can be addressed in person.
