Council tables decision on garbage rates after new business and school billing questions

The council on Feb. 9 discussed whether Cattleman's Ag Supply should be moved from a rural garbage fee to a higher commercial tier after the business opened and began delivering large amounts of garbage.
Clerk/Treasurer Ashley Bondell told the council she had set the account up as rural while the business was out of town limits and that "the business has now opened and is bringing in quite a bit of garbage." Bondell said she also found one Plevna School account that pays a residential garbage fee while other institutions are on tiered commercial rates. Councilwoman Promise Miller asked the clerk to return with a clearer breakdown of which accounts fall into tiers 1–3 before the council changes rates or reassigns accounts. The council tabled the topic to gather the requested information.
