Council approves $36,387 payment for sewer inlet work; adds DEQ-required manhole

The Town of Plevna on Feb. 9 approved Change Order No. 2 and Pay Application #2 to Arrow Restoration for $36,387.89, with a 1% state tax payment of $367.55 to the Montana Department of Revenue, to continue sewer inlet and manhole construction.
Josh Stuchl of Brosz Engineering presented the change order and told the council that the revision includes additional work tied to pipe relocation and an extra manhole. Rylan Limesand of Brosz Engineering explained that "the existing equalizer pipe ... is too close to the inlet and there are concerns about short circuiting. That pipe had to be moved to the south side but it can not be left open so both ends needed to be capped." He said the additional manhole is intended to provide a way to measure influent, a requirement of the DEQ. Stuchl said Arrow Restoration planned to resume work Tuesday, Feb. 10, and estimated "by Friday or Saturday the project will be completed."
Councilwoman Promise Miller moved to approve the change order and pay application; Councilman Kyle Vennes seconded. The motion carried, Aye: 4, Nay: 0. The payment appears in the Feb. check register and the contractor work schedule was discussed as part of project closeout planning.
