Lynn, the staff event coordinator, and other staff presented the application summary to the committee. Staff said total funding requests this cycle totaled $8,800,026 while the 2025 baseline revenue projection is about $369,000; staff noted this leaves a material gap between requests and available baseline funds even if reserves are used.
Committee members asked whether applicants were aware of the full amount available and discussed past practice of publishing approximate available funds; staff said past years published an approximate available figure (about $390,000) but last year the committee had chosen not to post a full figure. "We do not share publicly what the full amount is for availability... that's based off of a committee decision," a staff speaker said. Members requested a summary sheet with event dates and prior-year awards to help rapid evaluation during the forthcoming 15 presentations.
Lynn agreed to provide the recording and a summary view to help members prepare, and the committee planned to deliberate at the October 10 date after presentations next week. Staff also emphasized the committee can recommend use of reserves in addition to baseline revenue but that council approval is required to finalize allocations.
