APF report: two Calvert County schools exceed rated capacity, staff says

Planning staff presented the April 1, 2026 Adequate Public Facilities (APF) report for school capacity. The report shows two Calvert County Public Schools exceeding 100% of rated capacity: Mount Harmony Elementary at 101.9% and Northern Middle School at 104.3%. Staff noted those figures are similar to the November 2025 report (Mount Harmony 101.6%, Northern Middle 104.7%) and said no residential development has yet been affected by the overcapacity metrics.
Commissioners had no substantive questions following the presentation and thanked staff for the update. The APF schedule requires staff to prepare school‑adequacy reports twice a year (April 1 and November 1).
