The Town of Green Lake Board voted July 14 to adopt an ordinance restricting certain artificial wake‑enhancement practices on Little Green Lake. Chairman Moderow moved the ordinance and board member Berndt seconded; the motion carried on the floor of the meeting.
The ordinance, as read into the record, bars use of ballast tanks, ballast bags or fins that cause a boat to operate in a bow‑high manner but explicitly exempts traditional activities such as water skiing, tubing and wakeboarding when using a tow rope, as well as brief transitions to empty bilge water or to accelerate into a planing position. The board did not record an ordinance number or a roll‑call vote in the transcript. The enactment was recorded in the minutes during the item titled "Vote to enact ordinance restricting certain artificial wake enhancement on Little Green Lake."
