Hines council creates new 'Events' budget department via Resolution No. 2393

The Hines Common Council unanimously approved Resolution No. 2393 on April 14, creating a new general fund budget department called "Events" to streamline accounting and support city-sponsored activities. Administrator Roxane Worley read the resolution aloud before the Council voted to adopt it.
"Resolution No. 2393 is a resolution establishing a new general fund budget department entitled 'Events' and creating associated revenue and expenditure lines," Worley told the Council. Councilor Hilda Allison moved to adopt the resolution and Councilor Roger Hodge seconded; the motion passed with all ayes.
Council and staff said the new departmental line will centralize revenue and costs for festivals and community events such as Thunder in the Desert and the Bird Festival, improving transparency and accounting for sponsorships and ticket revenues.
