Commission discusses winter activities, secretary coverage and forming budget subcommittee

Members discussed possible winter activities on Town Farm property including a cross-country skiing/walking pathway and a community sled day. The Commission flagged concerns about insurance and liability, plowing access, route safety and site obstacles; the Chair will consult with Town Hall (Dave) and insurance guidance and recommended a winter site walk-through before further planning.

Following the Secretary’s resignation, Commission members agreed Catherine Wales will attempt to handle minutes and administrative workflow for the coming month while the group evaluates whether to hire a paid recording secretary; the Commission discussed a known resource, Patty Fife, who serves multiple commissions. The idea of forming a budget/finance working group to support spending-plan preparation during the Recreation Director transition was discussed and tabled to the March meeting for full-member participation.
