Commission authorizes chair to contact preferred Recreation Director candidate after executive session

The Falls Village Recreation Commission met in executive session Feb. 11 to discuss applicants for the Recreation Director position pursuant to Connecticut General Statutes §1-200(6). The public was excused for the session, which began at 8:33 PM and concluded at 8:55 PM.
After returning to open session, Commissioner Dan Carr moved to authorize Chair Melissa Lopes to contact the Commission’s preferred candidate to confirm interest and, if confirmed, proceed with recommending that candidate to the Board of Selectmen. The motion was seconded by Chair Melissa Lopes and carried unanimously. The Chair will contact the candidate and report back to the Commission and Board of Selectmen as appropriate; the timing of any formal appointment depends on the Board of Selectmen’s action.
