Council awards $1,000 each to three community organizations from council grant fund

Staff described the program history (quarterly distributions from a $16,000 annual council budget) and confirmed three vetted applicants were eligible. Rob Phelps, TSA advisor, told council that venue and registration changes have increased costs and appealed for support: "I'm begging and pleading for money anywhere I can to hope that I can get as many kids to go," he said. Council discussed increasing the awards but kept the budgeted $1,000 per applicant and approved the $3,000 allocation by unanimous roll call.
