The council noted that the previous officer (Mr. Arrington) is retiring next month and that Arrington has agreed to assist with a transition period. Council members said they expect Lee to focus on code compliance and community-facing enforcement, and to consult with experienced staff as she settles into the role. The hire followed the council’s standard appointment process: introduction, candidate remarks and a voice vote that the chair declared passed.
The appointment is effective immediately. The council and staff encouraged residents to cooperate with code staff and to consult the city for permit and zoning questions.
