The council approved Resolution 2526-155 authorizing a transfer of sewer funds to purchase a compact track loader from Milton Cat for the wastewater treatment plant. The resolution lists a purchase price of $82,992.69 with a $35,000 trade-in for the existing skid steer, producing a total purchase cost of $54,992.69. Staff said the new machine is necessary to handle polymer totes and achieve the facility's target percent solids prior to landfill disposal.
"A purchase price of $82,992.69 for a Cat 265 CTL with a trade in of $35,000 for the current skid steer, bringing the total purchase price to $54,992.69," the reading of the resolution stated as the council moved and recorded the vote. Staff explained the existing bobcat retains resale value but cannot lift the new polymer totes used by the plant.
