Norco introduces new animal-services superintendent and deputy fire marshal

Mayor and staff introduced two new local officials. Amanda introduced Donald Davis as Norco’s new Animal Services superintendent, saying Davis joined the city roughly three weeks earlier and brings experience from San Diego County and shelter management in Coronado Island. "In this short period of time, he's been an absolute pleasure to work with," Amanda said.
Fire Chief Otterman introduced Steve Payne as the new deputy fire marshal, describing Payne’s more than two decades in fire service, experience with weed abatement, inspections, plan reviews, hazardous-materials compliance and fire-planning review. Payne said he grew up nearby and looks forward to providing service to the community. "I just look forward to providing excellent customer service and creating a conducive environment for our residents and our business community," Payne said.
Council members welcomed both appointees and asked lighthearted questions about community activities; the introductions were part of the meeting’s opening and no formal votes were required.
