Goose Creek CISD plans to consolidate strategic plan around three districtwide goals

Kendall (Bridal) David presented a proposal to revise the district strategic plan from five focus areas to three clear, districtwide goals: academic excellence; safe and secure schools; and financial stewardship and transparency. David said the change aims to simplify the district's priorities and align departmental strategies, measures and performance objectives under shared district goals.
David said the strategic-plan action team will draft measurable performance objectives and present an updated plan for board approval at the September meeting. Trustees asked how state-mandated goals (third-grade reading and math and CCMR) and campus improvement plans will fit into the new structure; administration said state-required goals will be retained and campus/district improvement plans will align beneath the three district goals.
Trustees praised the simplification and emphasized the plan will remain a living document; administration said additional materials, including campus improvement plans and district-improvement documents, will be presented in the coming months.
