Council Member Kevin Basch reported on recent regional meetings including the Western Riverside Council of Governments and the Riverside Conservation Authority (RCA). Basch said the inland regional energy network (IREN) often uses Norco as an example and that local involvement with IREN could bring savings and other benefits.
Basch said he was elected chair of the Riverside Conservation Authority for a third term after Karen Spiegel stepped aside; he warned of seller-developer strategies that could create fiscal pressures on the RCA and said he would seek council input on Norco-specific challenges to bring to regional discussions.
