Katie Osmond, executive director of institutional advancement at the Cuesta College Foundation, told the Board of Supervisors the foundation will award $1,190,000 in scholarships to 696 students for the 2026–27 academic year — the largest annual scholarship investment in the college’s history.
"This is a historic year for scholarship support at Cuesta College," Osmond said, noting more than $400,000 in scholarships targeted to nursing students and roughly $50,000 in emergency grants to keep students enrolled during crises. The foundation also supports the Cuesta Promise and department awards that together contribute substantial student support.
Supervisors thanked the foundation for bolstering the local workforce pipeline, particularly for health care, and noted dual-enrollment and other partnerships that help students transition to careers and further education.
