Board hears overview of Pine Plains School restructuring and funding pressures

"Currently, the school gets $8,000,000 in aid... and it could go down to $4,000,000," Lutz said, explaining the district might need to choose a model by January 2026. The board encouraged residents to review the district slide deck and complete the district survey posted online.
Residents asked how the wealth ratio is calculated and whether district size and transportation costs factor into decisions. Lutz said the district will choose a scenario after monitoring state funding decisions and public input. The town clerk said she would distribute the district's survey to town residents.
