LCAP annual update: district cites 96% graduation rate, expands dual‑enrollment and CTE focus

District staff presented the 2026 LCAP annual update to trustees on June 9, describing outcomes from year two of the three‑year cycle and planned refinements going into year three.

Tori (S7) reported a 96% graduation rate for 2024–25 (a 2‑point increase), a college‑and‑career readiness indicator at 72.8%, growth in CTE pathway completion to about 36.6%, and CCAP/dual‑enrollment participation at approximately 41%. She noted assessment data are partly lagged and that next year the district will implement interim ELA, math and science assessments to better track progress toward CAST and other measures. "It was a 96 percent graduation rate," she said, and staff emphasized celebrating student accomplishments while focusing on improving English‑learner progress (27.8% making progress toward proficiency) and chronic absenteeism (defined as missing 10% or more of school days).

Staff described program changes including a full‑time college and career center coordinator (Heather Clement), expanded concurrent enrollment and dual‑enrollment opportunities (including adding a Spanish option), and a transition away from AVID as a discrete elective toward school‑wide career and college access strategies funded in part by Golden State Pathways grant dollars. Trustees asked about continuity of services previously provided by AVID and how the district will monitor the new model; staff said Heather Clement will survey students, track pathway participation and cross‑reference participation data with student groups to ensure students in need remain served.

District staff also flagged family engagement and response rates as an area for improvement and committed to adding more informal opportunities for outreach in 2026–27. The LCAP update will return to the board for action in a subsequent meeting as required.
