The board acknowledged employee resignations and a retirement on Jan. 13: Regina Tinsley notified the board of her retirement as a District Language Arts/Media/Technology Team Teacher effective June 30, 2028; District Cook April Baxter’s resignation was effective Jan. 3, 2025; and Head Football Coach John Shadowens’ resignation was effective Jan. 7, 2025. The motion acknowledging the resignations was made by Menser and seconded by Sample and passed unanimously.
Separately, the board approved the employment of Jade McFarland as a Special Education Aide, subject to her successful completion of the statutorily required fingerprint‑based criminal background check and employment history review. The hiring motion (Sample moved; Kirk seconded) passed 6–0. After the votes the minutes record that "the president declared that the motion carried."
