Board gives preliminary approval to revised mission and Programs/Services goal (1st reading)
Summary
On March 10, 2025 the board approved, on a first reading, Board Goal #3 (Programs/Services) and moved forward distribution plans for a revised district mission statement as part of an ongoing goal-setting process.
The Sesser-Valier CUSD 196 Board of Education gave preliminary approval to a revised district mission statement and Board Goal #3 (Programs/Services) during its March 10 meeting. The motion to approve Goal #3 as a first reading was made by Menser and seconded by Kirk and recorded as unanimous.
Superintendent J. Henry previously outlined a multi-step goal-setting timeline, including District mission final approval (completed Feb. 10, 2025) and staged development of SMART goals through April 2025. Board materials show Goal #1 (Student Achievement/Curriculum) and Goal #3 (Programs/Services) have completed preliminary draft readings; other goals remain pending board work.
