The Sesser‑Valier Community Unit School District No. 196 Board of Education voted unanimously Jan. 13 to approve a three‑year transportation agreement with Durham School Services, L.P., covering the 2025–2028 period. The motion to approve the contract was made by Member Menser and seconded by Member Packer; the board recorded six yeas and zero nays.
Superintendent J. Henry told the board Durham had proposed two drafts and that a final agreement acceptable to the district was imminent; he "recommend[ed] that the Board act to authorize the Board officers to execute the final agreement once the necessary language is in place." The board's approval authorizes officers to sign the finalized contract without returning for an additional full‑board vote if the final language matches the district’s expectations.
Board members did not record conditions beyond the authorization, and no public visitors spoke for or against the agreement during the meeting. President Garner then declared that "the motion carried" following the roll call vote.
