Council hears board and commission updates; Riverfest set for Aug. 15
Summary

Councilor Hernandez noted several community events and chamber activities, including the Colorado State Fair and back-to-school programs. The council president said the Riverlock boathouse is operating successfully and promoted Riverfest on Aug. 15, 2026 — a free event featuring motocross, BMX demonstrations, skateboard and parkour demonstrations and a build-your-own-boat race.
Councilor Dante reported that the ADA committee did not meet in July, the homeless committee approved its bylaws at the previous meeting and is working on a "safe locker" proposal, and that PACOG (the Pueblo Area Council of Governments) briefed the council on Northern Avenue safety plan improvements and plans to create a Puerta RTA steering committee in Pueblo.
