Resident Rebecca Murdock tells council her campground met inspections and licensing

Rebecca Murdock addressed the Harrison City Council during public comment to describe steps she says she has taken to bring her campground project into compliance with local requirements. She told the council her businesses were properly licensed for 2024 and 2025 and that "all required local taxes have been paid." Murdock said the City assigned official addresses to both campgrounds in January 2024 and that she has maintained regular communication with City officials over the past four years.

Murdock reported that fire pits on the property were inspected in 2024 and again in May 2025 by fire officials, including the Idaho State Fire Marshal, and that "all inspections confirmed the pits were compliant." She said a red tag was issued for a missing silt fence but that she was told work could continue and the tag would be removed once the trench was filled. She said she scheduled an electrical inspection for June 16 and submitted a Special Use Permit application on June 12. Murdock stated zoning concerns were first raised in May 2025 and said she was informed the property had been zoned Mixed Use when purchased.

Murdock also described what she called ongoing harassment of certain individuals at the property and said those people were trespassed by the Kootenai County Sheriff. She told the council she met with Mayor Wanda Irish on June 10 and that, following that meeting, the Mayor "confirmed all issues were resolved." Murdock said she remains committed to following city regulations and offered to provide further documentation if requested.
