Mayor Steve Young read a slate of 18 nominees to the city's boards and commissions and asked for public comment before asking the council to approve all appointments in one motion.
After confirming there were no public objections, the council adopted the appointments by the council's procedural vote. "We have a bunch of new board and commission members, and I want to thank not only all of these 18 people, but everybody who applied," Mayor Young said as he described the applicant pool. The nominations included appointments to the Arts & Culture Commission, Board of Library Trustees, Historic Preservation Review Commission, Housing Authority, Open Government Commission, Planning Commission and other advisory bodies.
