Town approves garage security upgrades; state assigns fire warden duties to chiefs; speed study to return July 28

Road Foreman Jason Hitchcock told the Selectboard the town garage needs one additional camera (for the salt shed), a new computer for his office, a keypad for secure entry and a wall to protect private documents. Jim Linville moved to authorize up to $3,000 for those purchases and work; the motion passed unanimously.
Deny Benson reported that the state has assigned Fire Warden responsibilities to each town's Fire Chief and that many chiefs have raised complaints at the state level; Fire Chief Brian Lundbergh was present and acknowledged the administrative change. Separately, the board confirmed the speed study has been completed but the report was not yet available; Brian Gehlich said the report should be ready by the July 28 meeting.
