Residents Urge Action on Speeding, Flags and Flowers at Weston Selectboard Meeting

Karen Sironi told the board she has observed speeding on local roads and vehicles passing in designated no‑passing zones. She also asked why the town did not display flags for the 250th anniversary and why there were no flowers on the bridges. The board discussed the possibility of a volunteer beautification effort and noted that installing flag poles or displays may require permits from the Vermont Agency of Transportation and property‑owner approval. Members said there is no budget at this time and encouraged outreach to local garden club members, including Maureen Page and Linda Sarnacki, and the Ladies of the Green organization.
Chair Deny Benson also said the town would replace outdated door codes: "the door codes were going to be wiped out and new codes entered." The board committed to improving the planter near the town office and invited community volunteers to participate in beautification efforts.
