Board presses developer for drainage mapping and stormwater study at 88 Elm Street

"There's only, I understand, a small increase in impervious surface, so I don't expect it's gonna make anything massively worse," McKellar said, but added the board still needs to see where the flows ultimately go and whether the town system can accommodate any increase.
The applicant's engineer agreed to prepare a pre- and post-drainage study and to model the 25-year storm to provide numerical increases in runoff. "We will do a pre and post drainage study saying what's coming off the lot now and then what it will be for the 25 year storm," the applicant said, and committed to showing how runoff moves across neighboring properties to Union Street. The board said those materials will be required with the final submission after the scheduled site walk.
