Her suggestions included reinstating an energy committee to pursue energy independence and public EV chargers, reconfiguring the town’s fiscal health committee (CDAC) for long-term budget resilience, launching a charter-review committee to improve citizen engagement, strengthening emergency coordination, establishing a Sustainable Camden position or task force to implement Maine’s climate goals, and creating a Snowbowl sustainability plan.
Mulhern provided context and estimates, noting “this year alone, Camden will spend over $400,000 on electricity” as part of her case for an energy-focused committee. Board members thanked her and several raised related priorities — earlier and clearer budgeting, harbor resiliency planning, and charter commission work — and asked staff to consolidate the input into a prioritized list for follow-up meetings.
