The Select Board approved a request to use and temporarily close the public landing for the Camden Windjammer Festival after Parks & Recreation assistant director Grace McMullen (speaker 16) described the event schedule, fundraising and vendor participation. McMullen said the festival has raised more than $12,000 from sponsors and vendors, will feature about 30 artists and vendors and nine ships, and requested closure to allow setup, the event and cleanup.
Board members focused on precise closure timing; McMullen clarified she sought midnight on Thursday through 11:59 p.m. Saturday (with the festival events concentrated on Friday and Saturday). The board approved the closure and use request and thanked organizers for the preparation. Members asked the Parks & Rec office to confirm the closure language and notify the public ahead of the festival.
