The Santa Ynez Valley Union High School District board voted to approve its consolidated federal funding application for the 2026-27 school year, allowing the district to apply for and receive federal education funds under the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).
Staff (speaker 15) told the board that "approval of this application authorizes the district to apply for and receive federal education funds available through the every student succeeds act and related federal programs administered by the CDE." The district qualifies for Title I, II and IV programs; staff said it qualifies for Title III but will not pursue it because the expected award did not justify the administrative effort. The motion to approve passed by roll call with all members recorded as voting Aye (read by Terry: Mr. Johnson; Miss Noble; Miss Grace Velasquez; Mister Levamany; Mister Robinson).
