The San Bernardino Unified School District board held a public hearing and received the district's initial reopener 'sunshine' contract proposal to the California School Employees Association (CSEA) Chapter 183. The district stated the proposal will reopen negotiations on Article 6 (wages), Article 16 (leaves) and Article 13 (retirement/health insurance).
During the public hearing no members of the public spoke on the proposal. A motion to receive the proposal was moved and seconded; the board recorded that the motion carried and the public hearing was closed.
"Be it resolved the Board of Education received the district's initial re opener sunshine contract proposal to the California School Employees Association chapter 183," the president stated after the vote. Board members indicated staff will proceed with the negotiated process consistent with collective bargaining requirements.
