He said attempts to reach the transportation department were unanswered and asked the board to consider three steps: align district office hours with school start times for the first week, ensure schools have a direct line to transportation dispatch, and improve the bus notification system so parents receive timely alerts about delays or changes.
"On Monday morning, the 1st day of school, I took my 3 children to their assigned bus stop for their scheduled 07:20AM pickup. We waited, but the bus never arrived," Naranjo said. Board members thanked him and the superintendent responded that staff would follow up and contact him the next day to address the complaint.
