The board unanimously approved a resolution proclaiming April 2026 as Autism Awareness Month, citing the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act definition of autism and encouraging schools to hold instructional activities to promote awareness.
Christopher Hargreaves, the district public information officer, presented the resolution and noted district awareness activities tied to recent observances. "April 2026 is autism awareness month," he said while introducing the proclamation and the students receiving recognition.
The board also recognized athletics, cheer, dance, esports and drill-team accomplishments from across the district. Coaches and staff introduced standout athletes and described the teams’ regional and state-level results, including CIF placers, masters qualifiers and state qualifiers. Staff and trustees encouraged community attendance at upcoming events such as a Southeast Academy community breakfast and the Golden Bear West Coast Nationals.
